So I assume since I just renewed that money is gone forever. I could see a law suit here. Class action.

Why would it be gone forever? They have clearly said that they will be extending all memberships by the amount of time that they are down.

soooooo, let me get this right? For $29.00 ( or what ever you paid) you would get involved in a class action?
Do you realize that even with class actions attorneys get 33% or more?
"Mark it short, be done with it"
EVEN if it comes to this...

Let me see if I have this correct.
You sent $29.00 to a porn site.
The porn site was hijacked by a disgruntled employee.
That disgruntled employee posted a message on the main page of the website for all to see and directed the members to another website.
The employee has a letter posted on this BB explaining his actions.
The porn site is down for 5 days.
The porn site has acknowledged that there is a problem and they shut the site down for security reasons.
The porn site had a BB up and running and is communicating with its concerned customers with multiple daily posts.
You are posting on that BB so that is proof it is up and running.
Management has stated that it will extend all memberships by the number of days the site is down.
At this point, there is really no reason to doubt management.
1) If you couldn't afford to lose the $29.00, you shouldn't have spent it.
2) If you just paid, you can contact the bank that issues your credit card and have the transaction disputed.
3) $29.00 is a small claims court issue.
4) In upstate NY it costs $35.00 to file a claim in small claims court. It may not be worth spending an additional $35.00 in an attempt of get your $29.00 back.
5) If you were to file a claim in small claims court and no one showed up and you win by default, how are you planning to collect?
6) How about giving the folks at VW a chance to get the site up and running again. The management is communicating with us. They are saying it will be back. If they had every intention of letting it go under they would be foolish to have opened this BB and be communicating. The easiest thing would be to just let it disappear and be done with it.
Step back, go read a book, go to a movie or just go for a walk and give the process a little time to work itself out, and remember...In the long run what we all want, more than our money back, is the pictures of naked women like Chann, Meg, Sinsation, Flame and all the rest.

All I care that the site when it comes back is the same as before it went down.
I want the porn that I paid for.
After all of this bullshit, will it be the same?
Probably not, for a while.
Who needs a class action lawsuit? If you're unhappy, just do a charge back on your credit card. MAybe no one will see this post as it seems that all post need to be approved by a moderator, but if the services that you paid for, and that means all of the services, aren't being provided, then just do a charge back. If every unhappy member did a charge back, then either the site would be back up tomorrow or the guys left holding the bag would be very hungry for a very long time.
Who the Fuck cares about internal business problems, they should keep them to themselves and just give us paying members the porn we paid for.
Enough Said! Get the Shit done already!

I paid for both red ***** and funbags i'm out more then 29 dollars.. the point of the matter is the site is down and the only things red ***** is doing is blaming "igor" they haven't given a option to get a refund...
And besides there talk about how the site is coming back it has been 5 day with almost no progress besides tossing up a bb and changing the colors and tossing up some logos... I could do that in half a day.. I have for a larp group once I think it took around 5 hours tops... we need real info or billing contact info.. not back and forth and blaming...

I mean seriously -- why would any company extend its resources to issue refunds to its members for a site that is coming back-- especially when the site that is coming back is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I saw it tonite in a meeting with the technical guys. It is unreal good! If you want your refund, send me an email at
officialvoyeurweb@gmail.com and I will send it to you-- by the time it gets to you-- you will not want to get off the site!
Stop posting impermissible content and I will stop blocking your posts.

Why would a company extend its resources??? Ummm...maybe because your customers paid for a service that they're not getting and they are unsatisfied??? Call me dumb but that seems pretty normal??? This "out of the world" site had had a week to produce something and has delivered nothing. You saw it in a meeting tonight?? Are you using the Geek Squad from Best Buy?? Give me a break. I have friends that are programmers that told me you can have a site comparable to other sites in two days unless you have a bunch of morons programming. Why are you blocking posts?? People are calling you out and your response is to block them?? Sounds like a desperate act in a last ditch effort to lie to a bunch of people to make them think you are really bringing back a website. Prove me wrong but I'll bet good money that it's a bunch of crap. Enjoy your BB and nothing more.

You directed this to another member, but it seems to apply to me as well. Unfortunately, you have not stated what is impermissible. Therefore, I haven't a clue what I mentioned that caused my post to get flagged for review and ultimately blocked.
Blocking posts was something never done in the past.
Is this a new "feature" of the new VW?

Well, that sure is funny. I bet they could make Windows OS absolutely perfect too!
And after that, they could help rebuild Katrina's damage, I can image it could be accomplished in only a day or too with their help. And when the weekend come, it will be party time.
Sounds like a lot of porn withdrawal going on ... addiction. Can’t wait for the next fix, and with no other site available, insanity has developed.

Because they have to populate 9 server farms on 2 continents, check traffic strength, verify that it will hold up, then reconnect all the addresses, recheck that they are all working properly, ect.
It's not an overnight job.

Ok... first off, taking "legal" action over a membership here is pointless (would cost far more than you paid). If you feel strongly about it, just file a dispute with your charge card company / bank. In most cases they'll refund your money, and then they'll go after the company so you don't have to.

Almost every website is required to have a feature to block posts which contain impermissible content. If you provide me your email address, I will send you the List of Impermissible Content on Posts. And you are wrong. VW always blocked posts which contained impermissible and illegal content.

VW never used prior restraint on the BB. The user was able to post whatever they wanted to the BB. If deemed unfitting for the BB, a moderator would at some later time remove it.
There was a list of "bad words," but that simply replaces the offending words with ********. It was often used to prevent spam, not disagreements on perceptions of truth.
The best method for combating misinformation is with the truth. Openly and honestly.
As far as emailing me the "List of Impermissible Content on Posts", ought not you be able to see the email address in which I registered to this BB? And furthermore, ought not that "List of Impermissible Content on Posts" be made public? When you work under the cloak of darkness, people begin to wonder what you are really doing.
This is definitely a new direction VW is heading.

This is a perfect example of the inconsistency that keeps us all wondering how much this site is on the up-and-up.
Here you are telling us how difficult, long, and time consuming it is to bring up the site due to the complex nature of its hardware setup.
At the same time you have time and time again said Igor claiming the site could not possibly be brought back up in 4-7 days was proof he must have sabotaged it.
I'm too damn lazy to look up the past but as I recall the reason Igor gave that you could not possibly be up in 4-7 days was how difficult, long, and time consuming it is to bring up the site due to the complex nature of its hardware setup including it being distributed over multiple farms on multiple continents which needed to be synchronized and balanced.
Your proof he sabotaged the system is he agrees with you it is hard to being back up!?
I'm sure you both have some legitimate beefs against each other and sooner or later the courts will settle it out but unsubstantiated mudslinging and hearsay just further reduces the trust we may have left in either site; trust which is vital for a thriving community.

Zardoz, you seem to be mistaking Jedi for a VW mouthpiece. I assure you he is not.
What Igor said was that one of the third parties has the code and that is why VW doesn't have it. He said he could tell them to reactivate it but it would be no use because it is such a complicated mess. I'm not sure how that makes sense, since the site was running reasonably well before Igor's departure, so why would the code suddenly be unworkable from one day to the next? But I also don't understand what we're hearing from VW, who early on seemed to be saying that the code was sabotaged, but now seem to be indicating that they've built a new site from scratch. So I guess we don't know whether they had the code or not. My hunch is the latter, but I don't know the first thing about web coding.

Back to topic.
Don't see the reason to flame threadstarter like some of you do. Let's do some math:
29 bucks is not THE amount - you're right.
BUT 29 X xxxxxxxx members is a HUGE amount.... Further, Ccbill and Epoch charges siteowner 35 bucks fine for every chargeback... A lot of big processors died the chargeback fine death in history - remember IBill or DMR in the late 90ies?
Biggest processors at this time - death. Along with thousands of webmasters who lose their recurring membership bases.
Everybody can do a chargeback easily and if you have merchant acct the CB fines raise with quantity like for eg. 35 for 1-10 CB's, 50 for 11-50 CB's, 100 for 51 -100 CB's, 200 bucks for every CB in amount of 101-200 CB's etc. Etc. Thats no BS thats true and now you know why even BIg and millions of dollar companies died like IBill, DMR and countless others.
So do the math yourself and think before posting and blame concerned pple. Period.

my two cents. If you read thru Katherine Lucas's posts she has said YES to way to many things. Seriously, I have doubts that we will ever see the voyeurweb we all knew and loved again.
You can continue to hope so, but please - read thru all the things their PR person has agreed to and see if you think any company that plans on staying in business would do them...
