Let Seized Drug Assets Pay for the Wall

Ted Cruz has a bill to use 14 billion in seized drug assets go to pay for the border wall.

Yes, the Paul Ryan ilk of Repubs doesn't want to even spend 1 billion -- 3/10 of 1 percent of the budget -- to secure the border.

But the Cruz solution will be hard to resist politically.

I think they should seize all assets of anyone who violated our laws and snuck into the United States. Send them home with nothing but a bottle of water, a bagged lunch and the clothes on their backs. Use those assets to rebuild the wall along with the drug czar's money.

Yep.....It's money illegally earned..just like drug money...homes, cars, etc. can be sold at auction..
And we already have the laws in place.... :o :o

Exactly, and if they started seizing those assets, illegals would self deport and stop sneaking illegally into the United States, problem solved without even having to put anyone in jail. Hell we probably wouldn't even need a wall, there would be "zero" incentive to come here illegally knowing that when caught they would lose everything.

This all makes too much sense.

So, it will never go anywhere.

Amen, brother.

Like many another, put this good idea in the hands of Congress and it'll likely be lost.

Forfeiture laws have been around in the US since Colonial days....
and used quite extensively in the 1920s and 30s.
The latest is Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984.

But of course if forfeiture of money and properties was applied to illegal immigration
don't you know some cupcake judge in the 9th District will suddenly find the whole law unconstitutional
even if the law has been in the books since 1984... :o

Trump couldn't get the Mexicans to pay for the wall.
Tell that to Mexico.
Mexican peso hits record low vs. dollar after President Trump's election.

= They're paying more for our products and services, we're paying less for theirs. Think about it dude.

Well Trump couldn't get the Mexican government nor the US congress to fund the wall.

Now Trump is resorting to drug money?

Or will he be picking up day laborers in his pickup truck along the border to build the wall. He can always pay them back with those cheap Mexican pesos......right Silly???

LMFAO!

Somehow I think a Range Rover would be more Trump's style than Elkin's rusted out pickup.
