Why does Obama believe he shouldn't comply with record releases that his predecessors did of their own volition? Hiding something?

The Trump administration has decided not to let the public know who's visiting the White House by refusing to release its visitor logs, officials announced Friday.

That's a major change from the last administration. President Obama's team voluntarily disclosed the comings and goings of most visitors to the White House grounds, and the Obama administration released more than 6 million records during his presidency, posting them online for the public's perusal.

Trump officials explained the change as a national security issue, though the Obama administration never had that concern.

The administration meets K Street lobbyists at Caribou Coffee, and holds secret meetings in Jackson Place townhouses where there are no visitor logs. The visitor logs that have been released are problematic, because they are simply lists of names, with no way to verify whether a specific name belongs to a particular person.”

White House communications director Mike Dubke also said that this decision for Trump was a no-brainer, “given the grave national security risks and privacy concerns of the hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.” Are you glad Trump axed Obama’s foolish tradition?

So the Obama administration agreed to post the list of visitors but even then they omitted
names they wanted no one to know about...
So really those lists were useless...

Keep your doctor, keep your plan, be deficit-neutral, lower average health costs, the lies about Benghazi, the IRS targeting, and now we are gradually learning that Saint Barry wiretapped the Repub candidate and even after the election Dems were busily surveilling Trump in order to derail his presidency.

I'd actually like to see the preservation of the visitors, but given the thorough corruption of the prior Administration...
