Sigh, I can't sleep again! it is going on 2 am here and I need to be up and back at work by 8.....
Looking at places in Ireland for my next trip, sometime next year in the fall. Has anyone else been and have any suggestions? I've already been to Dublin, Galway and Doolin, although I will be visiting the Cliffs of Moher again. I've told my family that I want my ashes thrown over the Cliffs when I'm gone. Either that or launched into space . Alright, my rambling is ending. What day is it anyway??

The cliffs are beautiful... There is something about the light there. The Dingle peninsula is beautiful, and further north to Yeats country around Sligo.... It's a magical place.... I couldn't think of a better place to rest than the windswept cliffs. :ugeek:

Bed is definitely the place to be some days, ha ha.
Mine was good and I managed to get a couple naps in myself.
And one stunning sunset last night to boot.... Nature's beauty sometimes leaves me lost for words, not often enough some would say, ha ha! Still life isn't all work. A beautiful sunset or a beautiful woman can inspire me.
Trinity, you're right it is a fast moving thread! That's cuz it's filled with beautiful women stopping by to say hello.

I know that feeling honora. :| Lately I've been too exhausted to wake up in the middle of the night (or even the next morning, sometimes) but I've had insomnia before. I suppose it's even worth with changing shifts. :?
Maybe you just need someone warm beside you to entice you to stay in bed?

It's Monday... which makes being up at 2 a.m. even worse.
I've never been to Ireland, so I can't comment... but it's definitely on my (very long) list of places I want to visit. Really, pretty much all of Europe's on that list. And most of Asia. Not to mention quite a few parts of South America, and Oceania.
Ok, it's a long list!

Oh Honora
What a shame you can't sleep. At least if I was there, I could give you a good reason to stay awake! But alas.
As for the trip, have you considered just arranging a car rental upon your arrival and just winging it?
Ask the locals where they like to eat and which B and Bs are good...find the village watering hole and drink, sing, and dance with the locals. Forget the touristy stuff and live as an Irishwoman while you are there. Follow the weather and your whims, and just relax. It sure beats having a schedule...there's enough of that when you get home.

Hi Honey, I'm home. Looks like I missed a lot. Gonna have to go back through and review again.
This is for Honora. It is one of my rafting t-shirts from when I rafted the Grand Canyon back in 2011. And since I just got back from rafting in Washington... and in answer to Miss H's question...
(An explanation to the t-shirt... my trip in 2011 was 16 days long... rafting all day and camping in a different spot each night as we went down river. After a few days of no contact with the outside world, you do lose track of what day of the week it is.)

Let me try and catch up on some comments.
Honora, I LOVE that b&w shot of you. That grainy and dark lighting fits perfect. Ohhhh... to be kneeled behind you cupping those perfect breasts...
Hollie, don't let ANYBODY tell you this a young woman's place. You still got it, Babe!  And might I remind you, again... to me you ARE a younger woman! Keep posting and I'll keep drooling.
Manda... face plant! I don't need to say anything more.
Jess, pleased to meet you. Thanks for the compliment on my bed and towel pic. Did I read that you are a red-head? Crap... we are all in trouble with ANOTHER red-head.
Jeny, great silhouette shot.
Trin, I saw that pic of you in the Las Vegas window. Hubba hubba!
Hi to everyone else. I think I saw some new names somewhere... and some old ones as well. Freakin HOT here today. Supposed to hit 107° today and 109° tomorrow.

Big Bond fan. Did you know Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too? 1964, for his son. Interesting guy. The casino scene in Casino Royale is based on a real event when Fleming was under cover during WII?

The only problem with the new (Craig) Bond movies is that they've ended up being more Jason Bourne than James Bond. After 40 years of 007, the shift to this new character and style was too jarring. Yes, I know the newest movies are actually closest to Fleming's original books (Casino Royale especially so) but whereas I used to come out of a Bond movie grinning, I don't anymore. It's not that the movies aren't good... they're just too different.

I think Craig has brought Bond back to where he should be. The movies themselves are works of art, nuanced and subtle, yet bluntly effective; as is Bond himself.
Even Connery as good an actor as he is, cannot match Craig in the roll. The writing is superb and several levels beyond the sixties scripts.
Movies today are made for repeat viewing. That necessitates a different level of detail. These newer films have budgets far and above the older ones, that too shows.
We demand so much more from an film today. I think were Connery in the roll today he would do it as well, or at least comparably. His twinkling eyes are a decided deviation from Craig's ice blue daggers I agree.
I like Craig's Bond the best. But I agree he is a different 007. .
Less twinkle, but so much more nuance and emotion rippling beneath the surface.

And yes, I agree with what you're saying rock, but I still feel that such a drastic change after 40 years of following a formula (albeit with a little diversion here or there) just felt too weird. The Craig movies, if watched on their own, are excellent... but they don't "fit" with the history we've all watched since the 60s. Essentially Casino Royale was a reboot of the franchise. Whereas the previous 4 Bonds were just continuations of the character updated for the period in which they filmed, Craig's Bond was basically "here watch this film and pretend you've never heard of 007 before".
Not "bad", just far too different.

Fast - previous 4 James Bonds? You mean previous 5 (not including others like David Niven)
1. Pierce Brosnan
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Roger Moore
4. Sean Connery
and
5. George Lazenby

I wasn't counting Lazenby because he was another fish out of water... a bit of a failed experiment. Diana Rigg was the only good part of OHMSS.
And he was an Aussie. :o

There has been only two Brits who played James Bond - Roger Moore and Daniel Craig.
I also like Daniel Craig - he brings that toughness back to the character. But I also liked Sir Sean Connery,

Guys... Lazenby being Australian as a reason to dislike his Bond was a joke. I was being sarcastic.
Besides, there are plenty of other reasons to dislike his Bond.
Actually, when Brosnan was out and they were looking to replace him I was really hoping they'd pick Hugh Jackman for the role. I think he'd have been able to pull off the more serious Bond they were looking for, but be able to deliver the classic Bond'isms without coming off as being comedic.

Change of subject... Was just "chatting" with Berty. He finally got an account on VW and on September 10 posted four shots of Rita in the Ass Flash. Unfortunately, as of today, Sep 10 is now in the archives. WTF? Why does VW archive the instant flash so quickly?
I also explained to him that he needs a separate account for the bb's. Again, why does VW require separate accounts to be able to comment on both the contris and the bb's?
Rock? Any input?

The forum is a phpBB software module... which has nothing to do with the site itself. Linking the two directly would require some pretty complex coding from what I understand. I don't really know of any sites that even have a system set up like that.

I thought contris were up for a month John. Is rather odd. And yes it's frustrating if I can't get to the post side for a few days I have to sign in again. Haven't been there in months because of it. Suppose I should try again and see what happens.
