Political discussions about everything

Every inmate who leaves a Big Apple jail after serving a sentence will have a job waiting for him or her, under a new city-funded initiative, Mayor de Blasio announced Wednesday.

When asked why ex-convicts were being guaranteed work over unemployed residents who haven’t broken the law — including city high-school and college graduates — he insisted the initiative, which will be paid for by taxpayers, is a “smart investment for everyone. It’s part of life and we have to do better and better at breaking that cycle. And that is in the taxpayer’s interests, that’s in the community’s interests, that’s humane, that fits our faith traditions.”

The Jails to Jobs initiative, is voluntary and will be offered to an average of 8,500 ex-cons a year in an array of fields. Training and education will be provided to those lacking skills along with on the job training, during which they will be paid full salaries to help them gain the skills they need.
That's the kind of shit that Trump save the whole United States from. The Department of Labor had already drafted up similar programs for ex-cons to be transition to federal jobs across the country but with Trump's win, that will never see the light of day.
