After watching that it's hard to believe that the new Baltimore Chief of Police this morning held a news conference where he announced he is proud overall of how blacks have conducted themselves in the demonstrations and understands their justified anger, then he vowed to clean house in his police department. I was confused until I saw a picture of him.

The DOJ who is on scene investigating the death of the black thug says there is no indication the assaults on the whites were hate crimes therefore there will be no federal investigation of them. I feel sorry for those who have to live in cities like those and aren't allowed to carry concealed weapons for self protection. I live in a distant suburb of Balto. (17 miles) No public transportation runs between Balto. and my area so it is pretty safe. I haven't been inside the city limits in over 10 years. (I saw on the news that it's still there.) Luckily, my work takes me between my home and Phila and North to Harrisburg. Most of the comments here are true. Baltimore has a history of corruption, mismanagement, drugs and crime. Pelosi's father, Thomas de Alessandro, was the Mayor of Baltimore until he was voted out over parking lot scams where he made sweetheart deals with parking lot developers. Baltimore is smaller than it used to be because of all of this. It has lost many (almost all) of the large employers and more leave everyday. Very few large corporations will build a retail store in Baltimore, (I'm sure that CVS learned a lesson yesterday.) Our police commissioner long ago used to go to dinner with the local Mafia types. Baltimore's school system is a joke and graduates lack a real education; they need remedial education to get a job at McDonald's. Baltimore's real estate tax base is among the highest in the nation plus they get a surcharge on the Md. Income Tax.

it's a shame what Baltimore has become. They have the infrastructure to be a vibrant metropolitan area and there are people who want to see Baltimore become the "go-to" place on the East Coast.
