I don't know about Christie, but my two little ones have been given the MMR vaccine. I could not have enrolled them in school if they weren't immunized. Even if it wasn't a requirement they still would have been vaccinated.

Washington (CNN)The straight talking governor is suddenly mealy-mouthed over measles.

The New Jersey governor added that "parents need to have some measure of choice in things as well, so that's the balance that the government has to decide."

The meandering response trampled his message on a trip apparently meant to polish foreign policy credentials. And it was uncharacteristic for Christie, a political bruiser who regularly shouts down critics and, just a few months ago, defied the White House by forcibly quarantining a nurse who treated Ebola patients.

Over many years measles had almost been completely eradicated here in the US. Most Americans have their children vaccinated against the disease, and those that refuse to do so... their children are protected because they are in a measles free environment, thanks to the rest of us.
But not anymore.

Measles has been reintroduced into this country by illegal immigrants. They not only carry measles but TB and other contagious diseases.

When they arrive, the first thing they do is enroll their kids in school. Now since they are illegal, they buy fake birth certificates and fake immunization cards to present to the schools.
