On this day in 1987 Israrli air and naval forces attacked the USS Liberty AGTR-5 in international waters. The captain of the Liberty says that the Liberty was listening to Israeli radio transmissions as Israeli troops were killing hundreds of Egyptian unarmed prisoners of war. The Liberty was flying a huge American flag. 34 Americans were killed and 171 Americans were injured. The repercussions to Israel? We sent them a ton of money.

Snake, it happened in 1967 not 1987, in 1967 Israel was in the middle of a an all out war fighting for their existence, courts have determined they mistakenly firing upon the USS Liberty, after realizing their mistake they ceased fire. Had they wanted to they could have sunk the whole ship and killed everyone on board. Israel claims they mistook our ship for the Egyptian horse carrier El Quseir and that we brought the attack upon ourselves by operating in a war zone without displaying a flag. Obama's military has killed several civilians and even killed several UK soldiers and fired upon our own troops out of mistaken identity during the heat of battle. Your anger should be directed at those who have "purposely" targeted Americans and continue to do so.

Justme...you should read the book written by the captain of the Liberty before you comment on this post. Every year on this date I wear my USS Liberty shirt. It was a slip of the finger (8 for 6.) As to the flaf, the Liberty was flying a 7ft. by 13ft. flag at the time of the attack. Israeli jets and prop oplanes had flown past the Liberty several times before the scummy Israelis attacked. One jet floght was within 300 ft. of the Liberty. Aprop plane buzzed the Liberty and it was testified that the props rattled the deckplates. I saw a picture of an Israeli jet so close that you could see the pilot's face covered by an oxygen mask. Red and green smoke markers were set off to signal that it was not an enemy ship but the Israelis ignore all of this and attacked.

Fuck the Israelis.

Why? You didn't even know when it happened, you thought it happened in 1987 when it actually happened during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. So do you wear special shirts on days Americans were killed intentionally by Muslims? If not you are clearly anti-Semitic.
