As students were returning to the school to retrieve their vehicles on Saturday, one described Mr. Pierson, a senior, as an outspoken proponent of political views that were unpopular with others at the school. Chris Davis, an 18-year-old senior, recalled Mr. Pierson once wore a shirt emblazoned with the letters U.S.S.R. and described himself as a communist. "People definitely disagreed with a lot of that and gave him a hard time," said Mr. Davis, adding that he didn't think the criticism amounted to bullying.

The gunman responsible for Friday's shooting at Arapahoe High School in Colorado is being described as a "socialist" by his fellow students.

The tragedy is that he shot a totally innocent girl who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As of the news last night, she was in critical condition with severe head trauma from the gunshot wound.

The saving grace is that, like most cowardly shooters, he turned the gun on himself when faced with a responding sheriff's deputy thus improving the overall quality of life on earth with the elimination of one more fucking communist piece of shit.

It is a mental health issue. Where were the adults in this boy's life? Even his friends could recognize his extreme opinions and ideology. I believe it demonstrates our failures as parents. It reflects the coarsening and dysfunction of our society and culture. To hate so much as to want to kill must be result of moral degeneration.

I can remember high school shooting and gun clubs. Guns being in vehicles in the school parking lot, and guns being in everyone's houses and generally everywhere you looked. And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember this type of thing ever happening.

I also don't remember anyone at that age believing they were so wise as to think they knew how the rest of the world should live. But the indoctrination occurs at much younger ages now. Maybe the individual, or institution that accomplished that should be held responsible.

I agree with everything Brandon says. I frequently went to high school with a shotgun or rifle in the trunk of my car. Not because I wanted to shoot anybody, but because I was going hunting after school. All the time I was growing up we had guns in the house, behind lock and key. I knew where the key was, but I also knew that if I took a gun out without my dad's permission it would be my ass.

I also agree that anyone should do anything they have to in order to get their kids into a private school where kids actually receive an education rather than an indoctrination from NEA union members who are only interested in turning out good little mind numbed robots who will follow the liberal party line.

My youngest son came home from grade school one day all excited over the mock election they were going to have in school the next day. Bubba Boy Clinton was running for his first term and the teachers had been busy spewing the propaganda. I asked him who he was going to vote for and he proudly told me it was going to be Clinton. I took him aside and explained what a total lying dirtbag Clinton was and how he had hurt many people, mostly women just like his mom.
He switched his vote and was rather depressed when his side lost the next day. I explained that he did the right thing and that was more important than going along with the crowd. Several years later when he was 14 he took it upon himself to join the campaign for our U.S. Representative who was running for the Senate seat held for years by a Demonrat incumbent who thought that seat was his for as long as he wanted it. The shock on his face when he realized he had been defeated was priceless. My son felt vindicated and I was proud of his initiative and clear thinking.
As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. That works both ways. It is possible to rescue your kids from the NEA fools, but it's best not to turn them over to the programmers in the first place.

The kid never knew a day of struggle in his life. He knew about as much about Communism as he knew about walking on the moon.
He had exhibited his imbalanced state to other students when he told them long before this he was going to kill the teacher. CNN reported last night that the kid was hung up on our obligation to feed starving Africans and children in other parts of the world and felt that Americans are greedy. During a debate last week he yelled at another student, Michelle Sanders who pointed out that America was doing more for children around the world than any other Country, he stormed out of the building screaming after Sanders started providing amounts given by each Country.

Why didn't the school do something about this sicko? Let a five year old kid point a finger on the play ground and go bang, they send the kid home and tell the parents the kid needs help, but ignore a real threat to other students like this guy. Kind of like TSA patting down a 90 year old women with her husband while waiving young Muslim men dressed in traditional Islam clothing through. What the hell has become of this Country?

Yes, 40-50 teagagger republicans in the House and the weakest Speaker ever, only interested in his own job, will start this all over again. Yes, everyone will know that those members of Congress are stupid malicious terrorist traitors.
