The more I learn about what's really going on, the more I'm convinced we should not be helping the rebels take control of Syria and thus the world's largest supply of chemical weapons.
IF, I were President, instead of attacking Syria, I would take the billion dollars (plus) it would take to attack and instead of blowing up buildings, use that money to help fund those countries bordering Syria that are taking in refugees. At the same time work on getting an agreement with Russia and a backdoor agreement with Iran to stop sending weapons into this mess. I would let the UN determine what actions to take involving who ever may have used chemical weapons.
Now for those who say "this would send a message to Iran they can continue their nuclear weapons program", well I have that covered. Since we have our ships in place, I would have them blow the hell out of the Iranian sites developing the weapons. I would do so without announcing it to the world.
Talk about really helping the people of Syria and sending a message to the bad guys!
