Temperatures in China have plunged to their lowest in almost three decades, cold enough to freeze coastal waters and trap 1,000 ships in ice, official media said at the weekend.

Since late November the country has shivered at an average of minus 3.8 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees colder than the previous average, and the chilliest in 28 years, state news agency Xinhua said on Saturday, citing the China Meteorological Administration.

Bitter cold has even frozen the sea in Laizhou Bay on the coast of Shandong province in the east, stranding nearly 1,000 ships, the China Daily newspaper reported.

Zheng Dong, chief meteorologist at the Yantai Marine Environment Monitoring Center under the State Oceanic Administration, told the paper that the area under ice in Laizhou Bay was 291 square km this week.

Transport around the country has been severely disrupted.

Over 140 flights from the state capital airport in central Hunan province were delayed, while heavy snowfall forced the closure of some sections of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway, the China Daily said.

Anyone who thinks climate never changes unless man makes it happens is insane. There has been no time in the planet's history where climate has remained constant, never, ever. What you have are those with monetary motivations playing those with ecological motivations and the insanely naive to believe man causes climate changes. I have no respect for those that fall for it, they have no reasoning skills and disregard prior more rapid climate changes that have occured, even before the Industrial Age. You man made global fanactics who fall for their sales pitch are scarey, you defiantly shouldn't be allowed to buy a gun, you don't have the mental capacity to act responsibily with it.

And yet, if we follow Ice Core samples from as deep as 11,800 feet, going back to what is believed Millions of years, the Variation is well within the norms as this has happened several times in the past, to be exact, more than 4 times where the temperature variation was larger than it is now.

From all historical data, we are well within the norms for variations as well as being headed towards the standard cycle of Ice Age, one of thousands that have happened over millions of years.
