Sorry to hear about what these hearings are doing to your sex life, johnny.
"Comer Signals Retreat From Sham Impeachment Hearings After Disastrous First Attempt"
"In late September, after months of bloviating on Fox News, and as the United States was barreling towards a government shutdown, House Republicans led by House Oversight Chair Rep. James Comer (R-KY) launched an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, despite having no evidence for their inflammatory claims and not holding a formal vote."
"The first hearing was nothing short of an utter disaster for Comer and the GOP. And now, Comer appears to have second thoughts on holding a second hearing following his complete and total humiliation.
"A new piece in The Washington Post written by Philip Bump, which dissects new House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-LA) plans to continue the sham impeachment inquiry into the President, notes that Comer recently told Capitol Hill reporters, "I don’t know that I want to hold any more hearings, to be honest with you."
"Bump notes, "He complained that it was hard to keep members present for hours on end, given that so many had other commitments. Instead, he said, he preferred depositions, which “you can do more with.""
So that appears to be Comer’s new plan: work in the shadows, give depositions, and cherry pick information to make his case, rather than allowing the public to see his case fall apart."-MTN
Even Republicans are so uninterested in the sham hearings that committee members fail to even attend.
Now Republicans don't even want the American public to see them make fools of themselves this way.
Maybe Republicans should hold a vote next time before getting themselves into another purely partisan inquiry. They knew a vote would fail.
