The WNBA supports Jacob Blake, who had a warrant out on him for rape.

In other news, the mother of Jacob Blake, who was shot by police on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has called for an end to the violence and rioting sparked off by the incident.

She also offered an apology to President Donald Trump for what appears to be offensive comments made by a Blake family member.

Look at these conservatards desperately trying to whitewash over the actual subject, which is that police are shooting or otherwise killing blacks at a disproportionate rate over any other ethnic group.

The way johnforbes does his whitewashing is to take the words of a polite woman and pretends they mean she isn't upset that her son was shot in the back by police. johnforbes is THAT vile in his partisan dishonesty.

The victim's mother was polite. To johnforbes that means there must be no problem with police killings of blacks.

But there is, and partisan johnny has yet to say a single word about it on this forum. Addressing the issue would take some intellectual integrity on his part, but johnforbes recoils at the very thought of intellectual integrity.

This fellow Blake broke into a woman's house, raped her, stole her credit card and car keys.

He was a dirtball, and he had a knife he was going for.

Ideally, he would have surrendered peacefully, and not been shot at all, or just once, but life is not ideal.

Clowntoker's notion of a Civil Rights hero? No, Blake isn't.

So what did Blake do to deserve to get 6 gunshots to the back?

Blake was unarmed and was not brandishing a weapon.

Blake was merely returning to his vehicle .

What do police procedures say to do in this situation?

Were the police following the proper procedures in the usage of force?

Where were the police supervisors?

"Elkin, he was reaching for a knife on the floor of the rear seat of his car."-johnfibs

No, he wasn't reaching into the back seat area. He was leaning forward toward the steering wheel, you dishonest turd.

He opened the driver door, not the rear door to get the knife. When shot he collapsed onto the steering wheel and the horn went off to prove it.

There is no lie too great that a Trump supporter like johnfibs won't repeat it endlessly.

The role of the knife is much less clear.

The DOJ has not clarified whether the knife was on the floorboard throughout the confrontation, or if Blake may have held it at some point. Spokeswoman Gillian Drummond declined to answer that question when asked by PolitiFact Wisconsin on Aug. 27, 2020.

Video taken by onlookers shows something in Blake’s hand, but the resolution is low, so it could be a knife, sunglasses or something else.

The man who said he made the widely shared cellphone video of the shooting, 22-year-old Raysean White, told the Associated Press he heard officers yell, "Drop the knife! Drop the knife!" as they scuffled with Blake before the shooting.

White said he didn’t see a knife in Blake’s hands.

The audio captured by White is inconclusive, though there is a phrase or two that could be interpreted as, "Drop the knife."

Blake’s representatives have said he was unarmed. His father told the Chicago Sun-Times for an Aug. 25, 2020, story, "My son didn’t have a weapon. He didn’t have a gun."

Blake’s attorney, Ben Crump, said in a statement released Aug. 27, 2020, "Jacob did nothing to provoke police. … Witnesses confirm that he was not in possession of a knife and didn’t threaten officers in any way." But another attorney representing the Blake family, Patrick Salvi Jr., had told CNN the day before that Blake didn’t have a weapon in the vehicle, which turned out to not be true.

What we do know is that referring to Blake as "brandishing" appears to be an exaggeration.

Video of the shooting shows Blake walking around the front of the car with his back to officers and his left arm swinging at his side, grasping some object.

Brandishing is defined by Merriam-Webster as "to shake or wave (something, such as a weapon) menacingly." That’s not what the video shows.
