Political discussions about everything

A Turkish leader vented his frustration with the above words to a US General today. Turkey has refused to stand down in it's annihilation of the Kurds. Almost every nation has condemned Turkey's actions but the carnage goes on. The up side is that Trump's Turkish hotel seems to be safe for now. I guess its "Fuck your friends, I have to protect my own interests." I guess our trustworthiness is a tad below a snake today. I'm sure that the nations of the world are rethinking their commitments that the US has made to them.

GREAT JOB IMITATION PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!
#120134
Snake you and Elk head on over there and join the fight if you feel American should be shedding blood to fight their internal conflicts. The only reasons the Kurds fought with Americans was because it was to their advantage, not that they liked us. We were fighting their enemy, who they have been fighting for hundreds of years, that doesn't mean we are obligated to now fight their enemies forever.

All of a sudden libtards are all for shedding American blood where there is no American interests.
#120140
The Russians didn't help the US fight ISIS
Yes they did, Russia killed more ISIS fighters than we have. Lack of education is a dangerous thing. The Kurds are fighting ISIS because it's a thousand year old culture thing and we shouldn't be involved in trying to change their culture, we just need to concentrate on killing those who want to kill us. :D

John, Our Imitation President has taught you well; if anyone has a different opinion, make a strong personal attack against them to hid the facts. Never let facts destroy your argument.

As to my service to our country...I did serve for 4 years in the military. Military service is part of my family's thing. Counting Uncles and cousins, 9 family members have served in the military. My brother retired after 26 years in the US Marines. ( He was wounded three times but received only 1 Purple Heart due to his military branch rules.) Another family member is meeting with a recruiter today. I posted before of the decorations those family members earned. They were:

1 Bronze Star
2 Silver Stars
2 Purple Hearts
2 Commendation Ribbons
1 Presidential Unit Citation

I and those family members have served in 16 different countries. John, I am proud of my military service. I've often said that the military owes me nothing because I got more out of it than they did. I have noticed that you have posted about your military service. I have never questioned your statement or tried to belittle your service, I take you at your word.
#120160
I agree that the military owes me nothing. I got offered a free coffee yesterday wearing a 101st Airborne cap, but I declined and instead gave a 20 dollar tip.

Snakeoil, no president taught me anything about mounting an argument. Silly of you to say that.

I made no "strong personal attack" against anybody. I asked when you were leaving to help the Kurds.

As to family members with various decorations, I salute them, as you would mine such as my Uncle Bob who saw the second flag-raising on Iwo Jima captured in the Joe Rosenthal photos.

What I asked was the question every person should ask when media outlets begin suggesting Americans need to help people in Syria, Turkey, or any other distant locale -- whether you are willing to go yourself.

To me, the game is not worth the candle. However, if I were still in the Army, I'd certainly go if ordered.
#120174
There's nothing to worry about now.

Elkin is heading out tonight to help the Kurds.

So is sissy Chris Wallace, and so are his guests Donna Brazile (as soon as she can lift her enormous caboose out of the TV studio).

johnforbes, RealTool, and sillydummy are reliable in their hypocrisy, as always.

They don't think we should support our Kurd allies with troops. They don't think Americans should die for foreigners.
Because of this hypocrisy, at least 750 ISIS fighters have gone free in Syria as a direct result of Turkish shelling. And we will be sending our boys again to fight them later.

Meanwhile, Trump is sending more American troops to Saudi Arabia to die for foreigners. But what's even worse, Trump says Saudi Arabia will pay for them, not U.S. taxpayers.

But johnforbes, RealTool, and sillydummy aren't outraged that Trump is now selling our military as a mercenary army to die for a dictator who murders and chops up his citizens in an embassy of all places. They believe that supporting this behavior is in America's interest.

Trump supporters---they are truly vile.
#120181
Let's hear from the front, shall we, hypocrites? Let's look at what happens when America abandons its allies.

"'I am ashamed for the first time in my career,' said the distraught soldier.... 'American troops are doing nothing' the source lamented. 'Just sitting by and watching it unfold.' .... Of the President's decision, the source said, 'He doesn't understand the problem. He doesn't understand the repercussions of this.'"-FOX news

Trump supporters will no doubt be thrilled to learn that a few hours ago the Kurds struck a deal with our Russian-backed enemy.
#120182
What is the name of the "distraught soldier"?

Is he anonymous like the so-called "whistleblower"?

Look, it is almost amusing that all of these leftists like Chris Wallace demand that something be done, as long as somebody else does it while they opine from the TV studio.
#120185
See? johnforbes is fine with sending our troops as mercenaries to help a brutal Saudi Arabian dictator, but helping our allies against ISIS doesn't concern him at all.

Think what this does to our credibility in the future when we need allies and no one will help because they know we will abandon them when they need us. With 'friends' like johnforbes, who needs enemies?
#120190
See? johnforbes is fine with sending our troops as mercenaries
Trump wants to get our troops out being mercenaries on the front lines of culture wars that have been going on for hundreds of years. There is no American interest in Sunni Islam over other forms of Islam so we shouldn't shed blood over it.

There is an American interest in protecting the world's energy supply, if Saudi oil is cut off to our allies, their economy will falter bringing ours down with them. Russia will step in and fill the void of the lost Saudi oil and win new global influence and power.

See how simple Trump's choice is when you break down to rational facts instead of liberal talking points!!!

What a mess! Over the weekend NGOs have been killed deliberately, Turkish troops are wiping out Kurdish civilians, unconfirmed reports state that Turkish troops have fired on US troops, graphic videos show Kurdish POW s with their hands tied behind their backs being shot , The Kurd s have asked Russia for help and protection, atrocities by the Turks are being reported hourly, Hospitals in the Kurdish area have closed and are being abandoned, ISIL prisoners have escaped and are regrouping and the reputation of the USA is being reevaluated by nations around the world.

To top all of this off, Turkey is a NATO ally so we can't intervene militarily (Attack A NATO partner?????) Putin must be ecstatic over this mess we have created. Wait...Maybe that was the plan all along. Turn Syria over to Russian control and give them access to a warm water base for their war ships. All the better to nullify US Navy warships.

Thanks a lot Imitation President.
#120192
Come on, Snakeoil, it is silly for you to call him an "imitation president."

He was about a thousand times better qualified than pampered Obama or Clinton for the job.

As to Turkey, it is -- as always -- a dangerous world out there, and the question is whether you personally would go fight there or send your son to die there.

If still on active duty, I'd go if ordered because I've gone to more risky places.

But nobody on this forum is heading out for Turkey, unless Elkin is en route to put his life where his mouth is.

#120221
John, you might be right. Maybe "Fake President" or "Criminal President" would be better. for now I'll STICK with Imitation President.

Update: Ex-ISIL fighters have joined the Turks as mercenaries. Turks and Ex-ISIL fighters have been beheading Kurds.
#120225
Good luck Donnie when ISIS shows up again............
ISIS is a Middle East problem, 99% of their victims are Muslims. They are more likely to carry out terrorist acts in Germany than the United States, but Germany has refused to send troops to fight them. Time for the U.S. to let Germany and the Middle East deal with ISIS. The only time we should deal with them in the future is when they attack the United States, we strike back with overwhelming force, then go right back home. They will get the message to leave us alone and prey on Europe and the Middle East who will bend over for them.
#120234
Heck yeah, just leave 'em alone until they are strong enough to come after us. Good plan, dummy.
So clown what's your plan, leave troops there another 15 years to be the Middle East's police force and spend a few more billion and spill more American blood to accomplish that? Tell us what you would do.
#120238
So Justme............do they hand out Nobel Peace Prizes for having US soldiers retreat while a country where Trump has some tacky fools gold plated tower, slaughters our allies who died to fight the enemies of the United States?

Now I hear that the dimwitted blood spattered imbecile in the White House has sent his lap dog to Turkey for some photo op....
#120244
So clown what's your plan, leave troops there another 15 years to be the Middle East's police force and spend a few more billion and spill more American blood to accomplish that? Tell us what you would do.

Snake, Elk feel free to jump in an help clown out on this one.
#120249
So Justme.........how does having a proper exit strategy sound for starters? It seems that you morons didn't learn from the Iraq clusterfuck.

Or did Trump bail just to trigger the libs.

Ball's in your court dimwit..................
#120253
Elkin, if you had been in combat, you'd know how crucial the definition of victory is, and how critical it is to have exactly what you cited -- an exit plan.

After Vietnam, the only war in which the U.S. went in big with allies, smashed the enemy, and left was D Storm.

With Afghanistan, the war was outsourced to the Northern Alliance and mercs, and bin Laden fled to Pakistan which sheltered him thereafter for years in a visible compound within eyesight of the West Point of Pakistan where surely many knew about his presence.
#120257
So Justme.........how does having a proper exit strategy sound for starters?
I have a clear exit strategy, we go in wipe the floor with our enemies then go home, we don't try and reconstruct their countries or try and bond with them, on our way out, we tell them we'll be back if need be. We did that in Iraq and should have left 30 days after getting there, instead we got into nation building in the Middle East a place where they hate Christians and always will no matter what we do.

We should completely withdraw from Iraq, Afgan and Syria. They won't fuck with us again, we're to hard of a target, they'll go for the soft target Europe. If they do fuck with us, we go in wipe the floor with them hot and heavy then head home before our rifle barrels cool down. This would save untold billions and thousands of American lives, they aren't worth shedding American blood, year after year, trying to rebuild their country while they use our troops as target practice.
#120322
That is really a profound truth that more military people should realize.

The U.S. can't win "hearts and minds" until after the prior system has been crushed.

Pentagon people continue to think that, if they just go in light with 4000 troops, then they can outsource the rest and use the technology of the Air Force to do the rest, but that mistake is why Iraq and Afghanistan took forever to achieve little.

To win hearts and minds, it is a sad truth that you have to first kick butts.
#120324
^^^^^ It looks like these dimwits are finally beginning to see the dangers of letting our military industrial complex run our foreign policy. All this time they actually believed we were fighting for something as they pumped their fists and chanted "U-S-A! U-S-A!" while supporting trumped-up wars.

And it only took them 59 years to catch on.
#120329
Malcolm Moos wrote Ike's "military-industrial complex" speech for him, and I heard him speak at Johns Hopkins.

Thus, even before I was in the Army, I knew about the issue of whether a perma-state was urging this or that war.

The odd thing for current Democrats is that they have reversed two of their prior positions -- to stay out of endless distant wars, and to distrust the CIA and such agencies.

Moderns Dems are urging war re Turkey and the Kurds, and modern Dems are pretending to love fake dossiers put out by the Deep State.

Hippie leftists from the 1960s would be shocked.
