DefenceOne.com just announced that Lockheed Martin has received orders for 235 F-35s which will bring the price down to about $80 billion per plane. 149 of these will go to our allies. Usually, the sale of what we consider cutting edge technology is, in reality, fast becoming old hat technology. There are rumors of a super super replacement being tested now.
Again on DefenceOne.com, the Navy is purchasing 12 Columbia Class Nuke Subs; the last to be delivered in 2040. This sub is rumored to be invisible to others and can strike anywhere in the world. No land area would be out of bounds. Cost? $6.2 billion a piece.
BTW. While I was typing this I got a tele-marketing call. The woman spoke with such a strong Chinese accent that I couldn't understand what she was saying. I had to power down my phone in can't use it until I get it checked.
