I feel about the same as I feel about this mayor, johnny.

"Miami Mayor Francis Suarez tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, four days after the mayor attended a local event with a Brazilian government official who later tested positive for the virus. The 42-year old mayor became one of the first U.S. elected officials to learn he had COVID-19 and enter isolation.

Suarez was one of several politicians, including Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, Sen. Rick Scott and President Donald Trump, who interacted with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and his staff during a visit to South Florida last week."

Thoughts on Mayor Suarez and Mayor Gimenez and President Trump doing something just as silly but for a campaign photo op...

stupid is stupid. no passes like they give you know who.
just think back to all obama's golf games (65 to 170 as of day 821 ). whine, whine, bitch, bitch, bitch, communist king, overreaching. and bitch some more. then there was the cost, they were all sooooo concerned about. free pass. oh my deity. the ruckus about obama (romeny )-care, "same doctor", that THEY blocked with apathy from happening. yet cricketts on the multiple DAILY lies. somehow it goes over their polyester red crowned heads.

assholes (1) un-fund the fire department. (2) light fire to a building. (3) notice the building on fire. (4) yammer, someone needs to put the building fire out before their house burns down. ( 5a) run in circles. (5b) point fingers (5c) blame it on carter, obama, or hillary. (6) ignore what helps. (7) push bullshit information for some delusional "cause".

monkey's in a nuclear submarine looking for the garden of eden.
stay the fuck out of crowds, put a fucking mask on wash your hands. not that hard.
#126378
But what is a "mask"?

There is a great difference between an N95 and some ragged old t-shirt cut into a face covering.

Through March 31, 2020, the WHO, CDC, and Surg General said don't wear a mask if you are a healthy member of the general population.

What scientific journals tested mask efficacy after March 31 and where are the links to those articles?
#126379
Geezus, johnny, give it a rest. Even a child knows that putting something in front of your mouth and nose will limit the distance of projectile particles caused by sneezing, singing, talking, or coughing.

You don't need a "study" to tell you what you should have learned the first time your mother told you to cover your mouth when you cough. Why do you think she said that, dimwit?

Grow up already, you tiresome buffoon. No one actually believes you don't know that your incessant disingenuous arguing is just stupid partisan shit to support Trump's glaring incompetence.

You're just another Republican asshole with no concern for your fellow man.
#126391
johnny, you obviously STILL don't get it. It doesn't matter what kind of mask you wear, it will improve everyone's situation.

If you want to avoid getting COVID yourself, sure, go buy N-95s for $10 a piece on the internet and take scarce resources from frontline workers, as well as raise the cost to your state government and local hospitals.

If your aim is to reduce transmission of illness in your community and help everyone around you by not spreading the virus you don't know you have, then wear ANYTHING that cuts down on your revolting flying spittle and virus-laden exhalations.

Any mask whatsoever is an improvement as long as it covers both your mouth and nose. You can wear your boyfriend's BVDs on your head if it makes you feel better about wearing a mask. You'll feel like you're back at college.

Stop your asinine whining about this and just put one on already. Any child knows this. Even YOU know this. It isn't something to argue about unless you are simply a partisan asshole trying to justify Trump's irresponsible behavior.
#126392
What content in the post above is at odds, in any way, with what I've often stated?

If an old t-shirt will somewhat contain the aeroslized droplets, then it might arguably do some good.

However, the best medical minds in the world thought, until April, that masks were NOT needed for healthy members of the general population.

Now, in some cases of strikingly non-handsome men like Clown, then of course there was always an exception.
#126399
Again, they never said masks were "not needed." They said masks were "not needed now" by the general population on march 31st because they knew everyone would panic and clear the shelves of all PPE desperately needed by frontline workers who couldn't get them. They never said people shouldn't wear makeshift masks.

Stop living in the past. Stop proving to us over and over that you don't know the difference between "public policy" and "medical best practices."

Knowledge of the virus and how it spreads has improved. Policies based on the state of ignorance about the virus on March 31st should not be held to any longer. Nor should they be used against the people who were desperately trying not to get fired by Trump for telling the whole truth so they could save your worthless life, dimwit.

Partisan douche bags like you should let it go and fight the fight we face today, not the fight we faced three months ago.

Stop being a dick and put on a mask, johnny. No one is going to think you're any smarter because you think you won some idiotic hair-splitting semantics argument.
#126403
The best medical minds in the world said that there was no need for a healthy member of the general population to wear a mask, and that policy applied as late as March 31 when the Surgeon General discussed it on TV.

In Feb, Fauci said there was absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask unless a person was a doctor or nurse.
#126464
Wow, I finally got it through johnforbes' thick skull that what he had been claiming those guys said was not true.

At least now he has corrected himself and is repeating what I told him they said, which is far different from what he had previously been claiming they said. It appears johnforbes has actually learned the difference between a practical "public policy" for average people and medical best practices.

You're welcome, johnny. I'm always here to enlighten you to your appalling partisan ignorance.
#126479
What johnforbes said--precisely--to misrepresent what Fauci said:
"Fauci said Feb 17 that masks were "absolutely" not needed for any reason "whatsoever.""-johnfibs July 1, 2020
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14173

What johnforbes is now saying after I educated him, but he is dishonestly pretending it's the same thing, which it isn't:
"In Feb, Fauci said there was absolutely no reason whatsoever to wear a mask unless a person was a doctor or nurse."

Notice Fauci actually DID give a reason for a need to wear masks so Fauci clearly did NOT say that masks were "absolutely not needed for any reason whatsoever" as johnforbes dishonestly claimed. And even dimwits like johnforbes should be able to extrapolate that reason of need for doctors and nurses to wear masks out to other first responders beyond just doctors and nurses.

johnny lied specifically to discredit Fauci by misrepresenting Fauci's pragmatic broad public health policy statements then as though they represented Fauci's ideal medical opinion if he were not shackled by the realities of PPE supply shortages as well as threats from Trump of being fired for doing his job if he told dimwits like johnforbes the whole truth.

johnforbes will now apologize for his earlier libelous statements about Fauci.

I will consider johnny's desperate squirming to morph his previous lies into factual statements matching my own edifying commentary to be his way of groveling and apologizing to me for his previous mean-spirited partisan ignorance.

So Chuck Woolery claimed that the COVID-19 pandemic was a "Hoax" on twitter or whatever.

Then his son gets infected with COVID-19 the next day and he deletes his twitter account....and now Woolery is saying that the COVID-19 is real.

That's Trumpism....the neutron star of stupid, where you have 1 million tons of idiocy in a square inch or something?
#126557
It really shouldn't surprise me any longer, but once again we see just what it takes for a Republican to finally acknowledge reality.

Woolery had access to ALL the same information before his son got sick, but he ignored it all. Then one thing changed personally for him. No facts changed.

Why must a Republican face the loss of a family member before they stop lying to themselves?

johnforbes is facing that same situation. He has everything he needs to know about COVID right in front of him. He reads it. He even understands it. But he keeps lying to himself (and us) anyway.

It's incomprehensible.
#126569
"true as an arrow" . arrows always go straight it's your aim and release that's fucked up.
"kept dollar-cost averaging in, and portfolio recovery has been established" . as long as my portfolio is secure I don't care about others dying for no need, matter of fact i'm keeping pace with my losses due to my keen diligence, of mindlessly "investing" six mutual funds every payday. and hording toilet paper. so i really don't care.

That's Trumpism....the neutron star of stupid... verbal art
if your not laughing your the mark. please stand up, please stand up.

oh look some big words from dr john...

affirmative action needs tuning for sure. but until everyone has a fair (if you can comprehend it's full implications of what fair is ).
i agree, money hand out ain't it. but real human brotherhood opportunity, starting with education, not east of the rail yard housing, medical care, access to real food. it continues. but just like carters alternative energy initiative if we do it half ass it does not get solved. so thanks for blocking it at every opportunity. lets solve it, lets stop the human suffering while we sit in our million dollar houses. think what would happen if the top 10% gave up 2% pay and pro rata share it to the low level workers . i bet everyone would make more including you, me and our fat 401s that many do not have access to.

race baited ya i saw that a few times and though it non productive cheep shots. but i also saw a more references that were relative that i'm sure just choked your craw. after all you have to carry the treasonous confederate world view that freedom and justice are not for all. them blackie's need to stay in their place. arm in arm i am waiting for your hitler father figure to cart me away.
#126613
Dog whistling & race baiting
Mass COVID-19 infections
Skyrocketing COVID-19 Deaths
Rioting in the streets.
The economy in tatters.
Cops killing minority people
Military goons clubbing veterans and pepper spraying moms
A mentally decaying president lying his ass off.

All of this winning....I'm not really sure how much more of this American exceptionalism I can take?
#126736
Focus, young Elkin, focus.

America stands for equal opportunity -- not equal outcome.

That means Elkin has a chance to succeed, but it doesn't not guarantee that a numbskull like Elkin can win.

For half a century, affirmative action has helped minorities at the expense of whites and asians who have been discriminated against on the basis of race.
#126738
For four centuries, racial discrimination against blacks denied equal opportunity to blacks and unfairly boosted the financial welfare of whites who have never been discriminated against on the basis of race.

johnforbes is just fine with that because he is one of the beneficiaries of that injustice.

Now he thinks it is sufficiently just to simply say "Sorry, we won't do it any more" (while continuing to do it, even to this day) and he thinks that makes everything alright from now on.

"America stands for equal opportunity -- not equal outcome."-johnflubs

So when does this mythical equal opportunity materialize, johnny? It isn't happening yet. When will America actually stand for what you claim it stands for?
#126744
There's no such thing as generational guilt. Didn't Stalin's daughter become an American citizen?

My ancestors were so poor in Ireland that they abandoned that country for this.

I grew up doing manual labor which wimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton didn't do and couldn't.

Then I had the privilege of serving in the military overseas and being exposed to danger for extremely low pay, which the sissy socialists didn't and wouldn't.
#126750
So when does this mythical equal opportunity materialize johnny? It isn't happening yet. When will America actually stand for what you claim it stands for?
It is said Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation after his advisers convinced him
that once freed, slaves would make a "beeline" back to Africa...
Of course, they didn't have the financial means to return..
But what is keeping them here now...eh Clown?
They have waited long enough and as you said, "It isn't happening yet".
Greener pastures await them elsewhere, maybe... :O

Reparations?? Forget it....we ain't gonna pay you to stay here just to whine and play the victims. :O
#126753
that' a pretty large paint brush john and very presumptive.
socialism socialism socialism what a crock of soundbite.
what is with you only thinking farm work is hard. i bet trrumpy never lifted a bail, and you no longer do it either.

installing oil rigs, changing props on a ships, operating rov's, salvaging ships planes and bodies, are hard also. certainly does not make me better than those do not know how, aren't brave enough (or stupid enough).

gee and wasn't ol' jessie a quarterback for his collage yup pretty lazy. and ol' al from the brrooklyn lot's of farm land there to bail hay in. yea them ministers a labor loving lot. you going to condemn the loudmouth praying ON the elderly and simple minded pat robinson also? probably not as he is lily white and grew up much richer than al or jessie. why am i wasting my time? because i care more for this country and your kids than you apparently do. freedom and JUSTICE FOR ALL.

REP. GOHMERT TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID AFTER RECKLESSLY EXPOSING HIS STAFF, BERATING THEM FOR WEARING MASKS, THEN HE EXPOSES THEM AGAIN!

"Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican who has been walking around the Capitol without a mask — has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple sources.
Reps. Mario Diaz Balart (R-Fla.), Neal Dunn (R-Fla.), Morgan Griffith (R-Va.), Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Ben McAdams (D-Utah) and Tom Rice (R-S.C.) have tested positive for the virus, along with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

Connie Hair, Gohmert's chief of staff, declined comment. But after this article was published, Gohmert told his aides in person that he had been infected. <-----(Fucking unbelievable)

"When you write your story, can you include the fact that Louie requires full staff to be in the office, including three interns, so that 'we could be an example to America on how to open up safely,'" the aide added. "When probing the office, you might want to ask how often were people berated for wearing masks."-POLITICO

I wonder if johnforbes will continue in the spirit of this thread about reckless behavior by elected officials and give us his thoughts about Gohmert's behavior. I'm sure he must have some thoughts about it....though he does only ask others for theirs without telling us his, so who knows if he actually has any?

Partisan hypocrisy ensues in 5--4--3--2------
#126814
Unlilke young master Clown, I do not celebrate people getting sick for whatever reason.

But, of course, testing postive doesn't necessarily mean much as the virus washes over the country en route to herd immunity.

As to masks, Fauci said through March 31 that healthy members of the general pop did NOT need to wear masks.

Then masks became an article of faith.

But Fauci wears a 15 dollar Washinton Nationals mask which is hardly "scientific" in its ability to stop anything.
#126816
What did I tell you?

johnforbes started this partisan thread "celebrating" the illness of a Democrat mayor as a means of ridiculing all Democrats.

But when a slew of Republicans do far worse things, suddenly he doesn't feel like "celebrating" any longer and he starts pointing his finger elsewhere in a desperate attempt to make people forget that he made a fool of himself by starting this disingenuous partisan thread in the first place.

"Quick! Look over there! Fauci made the Republicans act irresponsibly! It has nothing to do with months of Trump posturing , calling COVID a Democrat hoacx, and berating those who wear masks!"-johnhypocriteforbes
#126825
Right......now johnny wants to get all 'egalitarian' and logical about it now that Republicans are doing far worse things than han Bottoms did. And also because it is clear that johnny has humiliated himself with this thread. No w johnny says "How could we possibly know what caused these events that were predicted by the pandemic professionals?"

But we all know it is likely that Bottoms got COVID at the protests and that Suarez got infected at his photo op and Grijalva got COVID from Gohmert's near-criminal disregard for others on Capitol Hill (including even his own staff and friends.)

And we know that all those other Republicans who got it because of their silly militant partisan posturing.

After we come out the other side of this, johnforbes and other Republicans will still be blaming the doctors who desperately tried to save them--from the disease, from unproven and ineffective medicines, and from themselves. They will blame the public health professionals for not telling them what they should have done to keep themselves and their families alive. They will deny doctors told them repeatedly to wear masks and wash their hands and to stay away from people as much as possible, and they will deny that they didn't listen, always insisting they were just being fair and logical and free Americans by constantly arguing against what they were told to do, insisting there was "no proof" or "no studies" to back up the simple and reasonable public health policies, even as people who ignored the policies died in droves all around them.

Not one Republican governor will ever take even a tiny bit of blame for their foolish and lethal political partisanship and public policies. Not one of them will ever blame Trump for sending mixed messages for six months, ridiculing the pandemic and those who tried to slow it down, confusing Americans and sowing distrust of Public Health instructions.

And not one Republican will ever take responsibility for their magic-based policies of silly "wishing" and "wanting" the virus to "miraculously" just "disappear" in the face of all scientific facts.
