Attorneys for Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman who is on trial for financial crimes in federal district court Alexandria, Virginia, will not call additional witnesses to present a defense. Mr. Manafort just rested his case,” Downing said, “and he did so because he and his legal team believe that the government has not met its burden of proof.” Manafort has pleaded not guilty to all charges. With no more witnesses left to be heard, the jury is expected to begin deliberations following closing arguments on Wednesday.
Pass the popcorn, Mueller must be fuming, just wait until the jury lets him walk.

WOWWWW, another bomb shell. One of Mueller's key witnesses says she was pressured and led on what to say. Talk about reasonable doubt! :D
The woman known as the "Manhattan Madam" for once running a high-end prostitution ring in New York City says she was bullied by Robert Mueller's team when she was forced to testify. Kristin Davis said she was forced to answer leading questions. "I left there feeling very sick to my stomach," Davis said.
Exactly what Judge Ellis said was happening.

There are precedent cases where defendants did not go to prison ..instead paid back taxes, fines and walked..

Even the media says there is a chance Manafort is looking at acquittal...

The jury knows Mueller is not looking for justice...he just wants to punish Manafort
for not cooperating like Gates...!
If Manafort walks, there's a good chance NY will not want to spend the money on a state trial..! :o

All we know after the trial is that Manafort has some really nice suits and that the person he had running his affairs ripped him off for 100's of thousands of dollars and fixed the books to do it. That person was Mueller's key witness.

Tool, you missed the part where Manafort's lawyers tried today to get a peremptory ruling from the judge by admitting that Manafort lied on the bank loan application, but it wasn't bank fraud because he was going to get the loan no matter what was one the application. And the evidence they gave for this is they said Manafort was selling Trump Administration appointments to get the loan.

That doesn't sound any alarms to conservatives. To them it's business as usual.

Did you miss the part where not one person involved in the loans received a Trump Administration appointment? Did you miss the part where not even Manafort received a Trump Administration appointment? Thus the reason this trial has nothing to do with Trump or his Administration. Libtards are shaking their heads when Mueller's team rested their case without even scratching Trump or anyone in his Administration.

Tool, did you miss the part where it doesn't matter whether anyone received a job or not for it to be conspiracy to sell government appointments? Conspiracy only requires intent, not execution, you dishonest scumbag.
Besides, you don't need to tell me. Tell Manafort's lawyers who made the claim in his defense. :o

For the last time, dimwit, this trial is not about Trump. It was never about Trump. It's about bank fraud and tax evasion. Exactly how stupid are you?

No liberal ever expected Trump to even be mentioned in this trial. It's conservatards who are breathing a sigh of relief.
And just so you have an early heads up, Manafort's NEXT trial isn't about Trump either, so you can stop melting down.

A required element to amount to conspiracy is an action put in place to attempt to make it happened. Asking someone in a position of power for favors isn't conspiracy.

"This trial was never about Manafort.
He was let go for the same stuff 7 years ago."-johnfibs

No, he wasn't. There are laws against double jeopardy. He WAS NOT charged for anything that happened 7 or 8 years ago. He was charged with things that happened 2 or 3 years ago, so obviously they could not possibly be "the same stuff" could they, johnny.

Nevertheless, lets visit johnforbes' la la land and pretend that Manafort was let go for the same stuff seven years ago.
Knowing johnforbes to be a staunch "rule of law" conservative, he will now undoubtedly be greatly relieved and satisfied to see that previous apparent miscarriage of justice set right with a conviction this time.

Of course, the trial IS about Manafort. The charges have nothing to do with Trump.
And again, you can't just let a guy commit crimes with impunity just because he knows Trump.
It sends a really bad message, doesn't it, johnny. A criminal shouldn't walk free just because he happens to know the right billionaire, as johnforbes is suggesting.

What statements are those, Tool?

You ought to know better by now not to question what I say. You just get slapped around and humiliated.

Remember, your made up stupid shit doesn't fly here.
