Our favorite clothing optional resort (Desert Sun) is located in Palm Springs. You owe it to yourself to experience it.

Do you have to go nude, or can the wife just go topless and fit in ok? Can you visit for the day?

Nudity is required around the pool area. If she were to wear clothes it would make her feel uncomfortable nobody else is wearing anything. Sounds as if she has never been to a clothing optional resort. Within the first 10 minutes she would be completely relaxed and find it to actually be liberating.
