RB, I know I couldn't sell you left handed muffler bearings to increase your horse power by 10% but I received a dozen or so in error. Maybe you know of some down your way that could use them. 50.00 dollars US each. We here in the Colonies can only use right handed muffler bearings go figure. All this British Standard Wentworth only works on the English stuff. Don't get me started on this metric crap. Rather have BSW & US.

Holy crap RB! Laugh my fricken ass off. Where did you find that antique muffler & bearing. I'll have to see if I have any left handed ones about yet. May have to include an up dated muffler though. That bearing really tore up that muffler. I think they stopped making that style back in the late 60's. They went to a smaller bearing in the 70's built in obsolescence me thinks. They started using multiple roller bearing in the late 90's, a tad price but last longer, so I'm told. :roll: Multiple smaller holes at catastrophic failure sounding like raspberries some kid would make. ( )

I have to disagree RB, the wire coat hangers work best in such a situation. The wood hanger would break after the first bump... Defiantly not a Red Neck fix.

The EPA is at it again along with our misguided junk science green weeny king in Washington. Below after my comment is a simple petition to help stop these power hungry we know what is best for you, unregulated types in DC. You will find a link as well at the very bottom.

"Make no mistake" that this is just about Hot Rodding, Customizing or building something for the Track et-al. If I recall not to long ago the EPA tried to slip a few things to where one couldn't do a tune-up on your own vehicle, change oil and a few other simple maintenance chores that guys and some gals are perfectly capable of doing and find enjoyable. Whether your a gear head, hobbyist, average Joe or someone that doesn't know the difference between a crescent wrench or a crescent roll. THIS WIIL EFFECT YOU ALL. I haven't had an opportunity to read this thing in total yet but rest assured that this current bunch in DC WILL slip in everything they can to control every aspect of our lives, our children and there children. Don't be one of those that thinks they didn't come after me so I did nothing, your next with this currant bunch. COUNT ON IT.

It would outlaw the conversion of any type of emissions-certified vehicle into a racecar, and make it illegal to sell any emissions-related parts for those cars. The Clean Air Act prohibits the EPA from regulating racecars. Tell EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to remove this provision from the “Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Fuel Efficiency Standards for Medium- & Heavy-Duty Engines-Phase 2" rule.

Be sure to service ya muffler bearings. Faulty muffler bearings can cause serious back compression which could lead to expensive repair.

I'm not a gearhead so this may be a dumb question. How do you screw a tread to make a snow tire? And does it matter if I can only do 6" screws?

1/ ask ya missus. She can give you some pointers on the art of screwing.
2/ 6in would give deeper penetration in more slippery conditions. Not recommended in dry conditions.

I found that working the little button in dry conditions causes the perfect amount of lubrication to appear.

Hmm, 2" screws v 6" screws? This got a little complicated. It's simple really. Clean the area's thoroughly with mild soap. Use water base lubricant regardless the size of the screw. Passenger vehicles and SUV's may require consulting your owners manual.

Rear tiers can be problematic regardless of whether and inch lb. impact driver or a foot lb. impact driver is used. Something about the density of the compound. One can't use enough water base lubricant for a straight slow and proper screw installation. Oil base lubricant should never be used, it could damage the compound.

BTW RB, 2-4 lb. of warm air will solve that winter air problem. However some most northern central USA states & north to Canada may still have to resort to changing winter/summer air. I'm working on a special inner tire heater to resolve that problem for our cold country friends.

Man that's funny. More so that I have seen those things and at times had to do some of those. The C clamp I had to use to hold drivers side rear view mirror in place. The wiper string, yep, been there done that. Duck tape string and bailing wire should always be in ones tool kit. A small "C" clamp couldn't hurt either. :lol:

BTW Jr, that door lock is a good idea. I welded the driver door. I'll know better the next time. :roll:

The duck tape, string and bailing wire are in my tool kit but like you, no C clamp - but I do have a few other hose clamps. You don't see those things around here - too tacky to put a C clamp on a Bimmer.

Add to that ya wifes beauty kit. You be amazed what finger nail polish, nail clippers, emery sticks etc can fix and a pair of panty hose comes in handy as well.

RB, point well taken. Don't forget to have a dollar bill at had always to clean contacts. That has gotten me back to the house on a few occasions.

Grumpy, I hate to disappoint you - no Bimmer in my driveway or in my garage, just Fix Or Repair Daily vehicles. But you can still come out and fix up my neighbor's wipers. Now let's see - who has the Bimmers on this block?

Painted toes? I've heard of painted rears, painted transmissions,painted undercharges. But toes? That's a new one on me. Doe's that have anything to do with toe in or toe out? I'm a bit more of a linkage man. Well greased me thinks.
