We have 30,000 U.S. troops in South Korea that joke about themselves as being speed bumps if North Korea ever does invade the South. Their job is to try and slow North Korea down long enough for the bombers to get there, the majority know they'll die either by the North Koreans or the bombing. No other country is willing to make the sacrifices America is willing to make to protect other countries and the vast majority don't appreciate it, they look as us as "their God given police forces". The way I see it, the first strikes will be on NK's known missile sites, the attacks will come from air and water but outside of South Korea in an attempt to avoid retaliation on South Korea. South Korea will stand by and watch as long as North Korea doesn't strike them. What happens after the US strikes NK's missile sites will depend 100% on NK's actions. I don't think they'll go after Kim unless he launches missiles and goes all out on South Korea. Kim probably knows that, in fact he'll be told that the moment we start hitting his missile sites.
