If the Vet had tried to hand it to Hillary she would have her security tackle him and she wouldn't want to be anywhere near a military medal because she despises everything they stand for. Kerry put himself in for purple hearts to get out of the combat zone, then used them to get into the Senate and then threw them away and spat on those he left behind in the combat zone for votes. That's the difference between Trump, Hillary and Kerry.

Trump did the right thing by accepting it and saying positive things about the medal, rather than embarrassing the Vet in front of the media and telling him to keep it, he even let the Vet hug him. Then off camera and back stage he met with the Vet and offered it back but kept it when the Vet said he really wanted him to keep as a reminder to keep Vets in mind. Trump is a true gentleman.
