Political discussions about everything

He said what he said, and whether it was merely another mistake in a life filled with presenile dementia or political rhetoric, those of us who are mere mortals will never know.

Here, we merely report the news in a neutral, lucid fashion and engage in polite discussion.

Dogs such as Clowntroller bark, but the wagon train moves on.

^^^^^^ Once again the witless johnforbes demonstrates that he can't recognize a joke. Dimwitted johnny (like all conservatives) always takes deadpan humor literally because they aren't too quick on the uptake.

Joe said it on purpose, dimwit. It wasn't a mistake. It wasn't even part of the political rhetoric. It was a joke that, with proper delivery, would have been worthy of a slight chuckle.

The only trouble is, Biden's team forgot to tell him that he (like johnforbes) can't tell a joke.

He said what he said.

It was not Mr Forbes who said anything.

Instead -- and as usual -- Mr Forbes was simply noting that Freudian slip, that rare moment of welcome candor in this vale of tears.

"It was not Mr Forbes who said anything."-johnflubs

It's amazing that johnforbes concedes that he never actually says anything. He just regurgitates partisan talking points.

"Instead -- and as usual -- Mr Forbes was simply noting that Freudian slip,.."-johnflubs

It wasn't a Freudian slip, dimwit. It is a guy who can't tell a joke trying to tell a joke. You of all people should sympathize.
Reiterating that you can't grasp deadpan humor does not support your argument. It just means you lack a sense of humor.

"When Trump said, he could shoot someone in the middle of Broadway and get away with it...
He was joking too ..right Clown?"-sillydummy

He didn't say he could "get away with it," dimwit. He said he wouldn't lose a single vote. And that's true, he wouldn't. That's how morally bankrupt Trump supporters are. You would vote for him even if he were in jail for murder, just as you will vote for him even if he is convicted of endangering the security of the U.S. by willfully mishandling classified documents and obstruction of justice. johnforbes will still vote for him too, only proving Trump was not joking.

But you tell us, dummy. WAS he joking? Keep in mind that you and millions of other clowns still support him after he tried to mount an armed insurrection at our Capitol, refused to lift a finger to stop his followers for over three hours as they threatened to hang Pence and Pelosi, as well as mount a frivolous legal overthrow of our system of elections in the courts, which he lost EVERY time.

And you and johnforbes will continue to support him now even though the Trump-appointed Supreme Court just ruled against his claim that Pence could have sent the election back to the states for a new slates of electors.

Clearly YOUR vote wouldn't be affected by his shooting of someone on 5th Avenue.

Mr Forbes, for all his many and various merits, is not a Democrat politican nor spokesman.

That senile fellow said what he said.

The moving tongue speaks and, having spake, babbles onward as the Rubaiyat of Omar K never said.

"Mr Forbes, for all his many and various merits, is not a Democrat politican nor spokesman."-johnflubs

No, you're a REPUBLICAN spokesman, as demonstrated by 100% of your regurgitative posts and arguments coming directly from your partisan handlers.

"That senile fellow said what he said."-johnforbes

Yes, he did, EXACTLY the way Reagan said of Russia: "We begin bombing in five minutes."
What's your point? It was a joke back then. It's a joke now.
You're obviously just too stupid to get it.

"The moving tongue speaks and, having spake, babbles onward ..."-johnforbes

That shows a real self-awareness on johnny's part about the merits of his posts. He actually realizes his posts are nothing but partisan babbling.

Thanks for recognizing that Mr Forbes is not a Republican, and certainly not a spokesman for the RNC.

The RNC is "led" by RINO Ronna.

As a successful person, obviously Mr Forbes is not a Democrat like a woeful weakling waiting on welfare such as Clowntoker.

johnny, when everyone in the Republican Party is a RINO to you, then the guys you think are Republicans AREN'T. They're something else.

If Reagan were alive today you clowns would call HIM a RINO.

But not to worry, no one would ever confuse you with a Democrat. You would need to have compassion and a sense of humor for that, so you're safe.

You remind me of Kevin O'Leary who said "It's fantastic!" that the world's 85 richest individuals own the same wealth as the three and a half billion poorest. "And this is a great thing because it inspires everybody." "This is fantastic news and of course, I applaud it."

When Kevin O'Leary received a surprised look from the interviewer, he asked, "What's wrong with that?"
With a puzzled expression, she asked, "Really?" He replied confidently, "Yes, really."

Trying to understand his point, the interviewer asked, "So, are you saying that someone living on a dollar a day in Africa wakes up every morning and thinks, 'I'm going to be Bill Gates'?" To which Kevin O'Leary replied, "That's the kind of motivation everyone needs."

Criminy, that's Tenth Circle of Hell wacko.
You and he are equally out of touch with reality, johnny. That's why you are a Trump supporter. "Out of touch" is a prerequisite.

I visited the mansion of a guy who was, about the year 1900, the third richest man in America.

He did not have central AC, or a TV, or the Internet, or a modern refrigerator, or a microwave.

Ask this question: Has capitalism lifted up the standard of livinig for everybody?

Do I think a poor person should worship a jerk like Gates, who dropped out of Harvard to sell software somebody else wrote? No.

"Ask this question: Has capitalism lifted up the standard of livinig for everybody?"-Cluelessjohnny

No, it hasn't. What planet do you live on?

How do you conveniently overlook what happened to the Native Americans who were wiped out by capitalism and the African tribes who were wiped out by capitalism? And the Pacific Island tribes who were wiped out by capitalism? And the Maya, Inca, and Aztecs who were wiped out by capitalism?

What you meant to ask is: Has capitalism raised the standard of living for everybody who survived capitalism?

Sadly, the answer is still no. You live in a fantasy world. One might say you think in cartoons.

Indeed, a rising tide lifts all boats.

Even a talentless leftist loon such as Clowtroller realizes that this is true.

In this vale of tears, capitalism has lifted far -- far, far -- more people up than socialism ever did.

Or could.

"A rising tide lifts all boats."-johnfibs

This is a perfect example of johnforbes thinking in cartoonish platitudes. It is literally false as well as figuratively false.

A rising tide does not lift a boat with holes in its hull. It doesn't life a boat that is overloaded. It doesn't lift a boat that is anchored to the bottom without any slack in the line. It doesn't lift a boat the has been burned to its framework.

This is what capitalism did to the 'boats' of indigenous people around the planet. johnforbes can't grasp that the "standard of living" of the millions of dead people caused by capitalism is zero. They have none. But the blase discarding of all those people with no standard of living at all really raises the measured average standard of living for the remaining survivors.

But even that measurement simply ignores the millions of people living in slavery today due to capitalism (in absolute numbers, more than at any time in human history.) There are people living on Thai factory fishing ships at sea who get paid nothing, some never seeing land again until they die. This is according to the Thai government.
https://www.theguardian.com/global-deve ... ai-fishing

There are millions living as sex slaves, and no, their standard of living is not higher than if capitalism hadn't made them sex slaves. One's standard of living is not higher just because your pimp gives you 'free' addictive drugs which the workers probably wouldn't have if they were not slaves.

There are millions of people living as slaves doing domestic work, and their standard of living is not higher just because they don't have to pay for their room and board any longer.

There are hundreds of thousands living in sweltering shipping containers, working for a pittance until they finally realize they will never get out, and then many commit suicide to escape. Their standard of living is not higher than those plowing a rice paddy in the country just because they now have clothes made by slave labor in another country.

Entrepreneurs like Columbus and Pizarro sought out venture capitol investors and then, to get 'Bill Gates rich' proceeded to enslave and rape and pillage around the world, "creating wealth" for the top 1% while wiping out entire civilizations and destroying the environment wherever they went, leaving those who survived unable to provide for themselves any longer due to the devastation brought by the capitalists. It is not considered a higher standard of living that someone now consumes bottled water they must buy from Nestle when before they could have drawn water from an unpolluted river or a well that was on public land and is now on corporate land. But the bottled water that is purchased is included in the calculations for "a higher standard of living," but the free water they had previously is not.

Even travesties closer to johnny's home like the Johnstown flood of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire are ignored because those people died and thus do not enter into his "standard of living" calculations any longer. Apologists for capitalism only parade the condition of the survivors.

johnforbes prefers to overlook the massive misery brought on by capitalism and instead touts the marvels of televisions and washing machines as evidence of a high standard of living, dishonestly conflating that with "quality of life." This is because he has forgotten what it is to not live as a slave. He would rather just ignore all the boats that have been burned, had holes punched in them, or had the lake dry up due to capitalism.

Clown's finances probably do resemble a ship with holes in it.

When Plato contemplated a "ship of fools," no doubt he anticipated the wretched existence of Clowntroller.

Nevertheless, socialism merely evens out things, at the expense of motivation and innovation and vigor.

For talentless trope trolls toiling tediously such as Clown, doubtless that will suffice.
