Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby recently derailed an initiative to bring together city leaders, law enforcement commanders, academics, public health officials and others to identify real-time homicide trends and develop targeted responses — the latest crime-fighting program to falter amid a dramatic spike in violence..

After months of promising unprecedented transparency and collaboration with law enforcement partners, Mosby said she didn't want to share information that others in the fledgling Baltimore Homicide Review Commission considered critical to success.

Daniel Webster, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research and the academic chosen to lead the project, said Mosby's position "really defeated the purpose and it completely took the air out of the whole Mosby blocks an initiative to study all factors in the murders in an attempt to deal with the real issues. The Police Union is outraged that Mosby is still relating the rising murders to racial policing while blocking attempts by the agencies to identify the real reasons. The fact that her father and her uncle were fired from the Baltimore PD by white officers is the root of her hatred. Black violence and poverty have actually gotten worse under Obama because from day one he's preached hate and division among not only the races but the income classes. Instead of telling them slavery ended before they were born so they have to stop using that as an excuse he calls on them to rise up because they have reason to hate whites and to take what they feel they are owed, rather than working for it.
