Don't get me wrong, I believe the bullets sent down range were well spent in both cases and both Officers served and protected; but the injustices are glaring. I'm betting if Sweat had been black the Officer wouldn't have risked his career by shooting him.
Sweat was captured alive, but badly injured around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, when State Police Sgt. Jay Cook spotted Sweat walking down a road in the town of Constable, about 1½ miles from the Canadian border. Sweat cut toward a line of trees and refused commands to stop, authorities said.Did you guys get that, "Cuomo" calls the Officer's act of shooting the guy in back as he was running away a courageous act. Can this be the same "Coumo" who had one of his on Officers charged just a few months ago with assault for shooting a fleeing black "armed" robber in the hip when he refused to stop? Why wasn't that a courageous act? Is Coumo telling us black lives matter more than white lives?
Fearing Sweat could make it to the tree line and disappear into the forest, Cook fired two shots and hit Sweat in the torso, New York State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico said.
“It was a very courageous act,” Cuomo said Sunday afternoon, which was filled with cheers from the audience.
