Hillary Clinton stands by 'Russian reset' in face of recent events
Washington (CNN) - Hillary it worked.

That is the argument former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made during a Thursday interview about her much talked about 2009 reset of U.S.-Russia relations. What I think I demonstrate in the book, is that the reset worked," Clinton told guest host John Harwood on NPR's “On Point” on Thursday during a conversation about her new memoir, "Hard Choices." Clinton later said the reset "succeeded" and was meant to be "a device to try to refocus attention on the transactional efforts that we needed to get done with the Russians."

The former secretary of state – and frontrunner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 – said the signing of the 2009 New START treaty, the increased sanctions on Iran and the securing of supply lines to American troops in Afghanistan were all successes that came from her reset.

Hillary's statement today comes as Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, has distanced itself from the United States, and the country is widely seen by U.S. and European analysts as linked to the downing of a passenger airliner earlier this month in Ukraine.

Russia has stepped up its aggressiveness on the world stage and the country's relations with the United States have suffered. The front cover of the latest issue of TIME Magazine even declares "Cold War II: The West is losing Putin's dangerous game."

Not really relevant to this post but interesting anyway. There is a new book out, "Clinton, Inc." The author was interviewed on TV this morning. He said that two Clinton aids,working on Clinton's foundations, started a consulting company that has gone world-wide and is making money. Chelsea Clinton requested that the two partners gift her with an equity share of the company. The two refused and they are no longer welcome in the Clinton circles.

As reported in Mark Halperin's and John Heilemann's Game Change, Bill and Hillary Clinton's political careers have been fueled over the years by significant donations from the Indian-American business community. These links have sometimes been controversial. In 2008, Halperin and Heilemann write, Barack Obama vetoed an effort by his staff to make those connections an issue in the primary battle with Hillary.

Chelsea Clinton's first job after graduating from Stanford was with the international consulting firm of McKinsey & Co. When Chelsea arrived at McKinsey in 2003, McKinsey was headed by Rajat Gupta. Rajat Gupta was a major contributor to Hillary Clinton's U.S. Senate campaign, as well as to other Democratic candidates and causes.

Earlier this year, Gupta -- a former Goldman Sachs director -- was indicted and arrested by the U.S. Attorney's Office in New York City on a string of charges for alleged insider trading. Besides his position with Goldman Sachs, Rajat Gupta served at various times on the boards of Proctor & Gamble, American Airlines (AMR), the Gates Foundation, the Global Fund, and the International Chamber of Commerce. Gupta has pleaded not guilty and is free on a $10-million cash bond.

Chelsea Clinton's husband, Marc, is the son of former Democratic Congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. Mrs. Margolies-Mezvinsky -- a former TV news reporter and published novelist -- was famously denied a second term in Congress by voters after she repudiated a no-new-taxes pledge and voted to provide the winning margin for President Bill Clinton's tax increase in 1993.

Marc's father, Edward Mezvinsky, is also a former Member of Congress. However, Ed Mezvinsky is best known for being convicted in 2001 of several counts of investment-related fraud. He served five years at the federal prison camp in Eglin, Florida, and completed his term of probation only this year. According to Wikipedia, Mezvinsky père still owes substantial restitution to his victims.

There's something to be said about heredity.

Chelsea earned her 3 million dollar salary for her consultations and words of wisdom to the Clinton Foundation as she jet sets around the world. She should be applauded for being able to pay $10 million in cash for her NYC apartment at the ripe age of 30. It's all hard work and public service by the Clintons.

I strongly urge anyone interested (or not interested) in Hillery Clinton's Presidency run to read the book "Clinton, Inc." by Daniel Halpern. I'm sure that it will give you cause to think again. The book is available on Kindle for $14.44 and on Nook for $16.99.

I had forgotten this. Marc Rich was convicted of tax evasion. He owed the government $43 million. He fled to Switzerland to avoid going to jail. Denise Rich donated $100,000 to Hillary's Senate campaign, $450,000 to Clinton's Library and $1,000,000 to the Democratic Party. Wonder of Wonders, Marc Rich was pardoned on Clinton's last day of his Presidency. Clinton also pardoned 16 Puerto Rican terrorists, 2 major drug trafficers, major fraudster Almon Braswell, fraudsters Edgar and Vonna Jo Gregory and ore than a hundred others.

The entire Clinton outfit is an ongoing criminal enterprise and Chelsea has just been inducted as a full member. Her Royal Thighness, the Hildabeast is the brains of the gang and she is ruthless.

I hope there is a real knock down, drag out fight between her and the Dear Leader's choice, "Pocahontas" Warren, that leaves blood and hair on the walls.
